Christmas at the Zugspitze

Christmas in Grainau doesn't need a big program.

In the morning, you can pick up fresh bread rolls with our bread roll service. Afterwards, head out into the winter air. Perhaps for a stroll through the village, a trip to the snow-covered Zugspitze region, or a day on the slopes.

Later, you'll return to your campervan, mountain cabin, or treehouse. At the Schmölzer Wirt restaurant, you can end the day with regional dishes. The restaurant is located directly on our resort grounds.

It is precisely these short distances that make Christmas at the Zugspitze so pleasant. You are right in the heart of the Grainau mountains, yet you can find everything you need for a comfortable stay.

New Year's Eve in the mountains

In Grainau, New Year's Eve doesn't begin at midnight.

Perhaps you'll be standing on the Zugspitze in the morning. Perhaps you'll go winter hiking or cross-country skiing. Perhaps you'll end the year peacefully with a sauna session.

For many guests , New Year's Eve in the mountains means spending the day more consciously, with fresh air, exercise, and time for each other.

We can't guarantee how quiet New Year's Eve will actually be. Fireworks and noise from the surrounding area may be audible in Grainau as well. Please be considerate of others and adhere to the resort rules. You can get up-to-date information about fireworks and other New Year's Eve regulations at our reception.

Our Finnish sauna made of reclaimed wood reaches around 90 degrees Celsius. The bio sauna is milder at about 60 degrees Celsius. In the infrared sauna, gentle radiant heat acts directly on the muscles.
