Grainau in summer
The Zugspitze village of Grainau and the entire region offer hiking and cycling trails, ski slopes and cross-country ski tracks for all levels. Popular destinations include the Zugspitze, Alpspitze, Kreuzeck, Wank or Eckbauer, as well as the AlpSpix viewing platform and the Höllental and Partnach gorges.
Water lovers can look forward to rafting, canyoning, boat tours on the Loisach, water sports on the Eibsee, as well as the swimming pools in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau.
Families can look forward to attractions such as castles, a climbing forest, a petting zoo and numerous hikes.

Even away from the slopes, there's plenty to do – whether it's ice skating at the Olympic Ice Sports Center, tobogganing at Eckbauer, or a stroll through the atmospherically lit old town.
